Upgrading guns
3 February, 2009, 20:55
Hi there
Thinking about getting three of my AEGs properly upgraded (bit more than just the simple spring and barrel job), would like to know what parts to get done to improve range, rof and reliability, and will get them all firing at 340-350fps.
What parts should I use and how much will it cost?
Im going to get my M14 Socom, Jg MP5 Navy and my AKS74U done.
And maybe my Tm Deagle :D
Cheers

Re: Upgrading guns
Really its in the wrong section.
If they dont need fixin', dont fix 'em.
ROF, you need higher voltage batteries. But dont use too high ones otherwise it will ruin the gun
Range, get closer to your target
Reliability, dont get ajg:D lol nah, get new bearings and maybe new piston and gears.

Re: Upgrading guns
I'll advise you on the desert eagle because I'm an expert with them
For performance parts, you'd want:
6.03 tightbore barrel (obviously extra accuracy and consistancy)
High flow valve for the magazine (for extra power)
Enhanced recoil spring (so you can fire quicker if you want)
Enhanced hammer springs (for extra gas output)
For cosmetic parts (or part performance):
Guarder metal desert eagle kit (if you can afford the hefty-ass price tag)
Custom grips (I've got hogue rubber grips on mine with finger grooves)
Glow sights

Re: Upgrading guns
Quite a bit mate, Depending on what youre looking for and make. A stock Tm m14 is fine, but i started of by fitting the tightbore. Then the highspeed gears and other parts firing dead on 328 with a great rate of fire. But recently i had a change of heart and converted to semi and upped to 425fps. The gearbox cycles very smoothly and the gun is very quiet.
However if a gun is firng well and the range and accuracy isnt bad, leave it as it is until things go wrong. Unless cash is burning a whole in ya pocket.

Re: Upgrading guns
My advice before any upgrades is ask yourself this: Does it need upgrading?
Is it worth the cost? Ask some of us before you consider the upgrades
For example, I'd say my electroplated silver metal desert eagle slide and frame were nowhere NEAR worth the price I paid for it. The only reason I bought it is because I've wanted one for a year and a bit. It only makes my gun sound metal and look really shiny

Re: Upgrading guns
First thing I upgrade on any gun is a TB barrel and hop bucking combined with a heavier weight bb. I find this combo will has the most profound effect on range and accuracy of most weapons. A good hop up bucking and TB barrel will also net you 10-20fps so bear that in mind if upgrading the spring.
Oh yhea and good luck :P
