Increase the range of your S-Thunder m203 grenade
1 August, 2011, 01:25
Hi all.
After receiving several PM's asking about this after I posted in another thread I thought I ought to explain.
This increases the range of the grenade by decreasing the amount of wasted gas when it fires. I have only tried this with the S-Thunder long m203's with a CO2 core using green gas. I don't know if this will work with other grenade types, or what damage it might do to those grenades.
Gas the S-Thunder grenade up as normal
Fill with the ammunition of your choice
Top the ammunition off with water
Put on end cap
It's that simple. This will effectively double(ish) the range of your S-thunder M203 grenade, makes it louder, and gives a satisfying cloud of water vapour when fired.
This works by filling in all the airspaces between the bb's and so increasing the pressure inside the grenade as it vents, as the gas cannot expand as much inside and so forces is way out with more force.
The water tends to vaporise when the grenade goes off so your not gonna soak the op-for's expensive kit unless they are really close, and in which case an m203 is probably overkill :-D
On the other hand I do not know what this is going to do to the life span of my grenades or launcher, so I offer this advice as just that, and accept no responsibility for what you do with it.
Hope this aids in your pursuit of fun

I heard about this before, i shall give it a try.
Think it would work similar if powder was used instead of water?

I use an underslung metal cybergun launcher. Just a clone of the g&p long jungle launcher

I don't see why not. Never tried it. Might have a problem getting the powder to fill all the airspace between the rounds.
I'll put a grenade down the garden using baby powder instead of water and find out, when I get chance.

Unlikely, as I am sure it is the water under pressure that is giving you the extra range.

Would this work for the tornado granades aswell? Some if the Airsoft innovations videos I swear look like there is water coming out too.
Would need some sort if cap in the bb spirals openings.
Has anyone tried?
