Theres not a lot between the two IMO.

Both can be upgraded without too much hassle, ICS has a 3 position spring setting Ares has a quick change system and both are rock solid.
I think they even weigh near enough the same.
One plus with the ICS over the Ares is that you can fit a large Nimh im the handguard, whereas the ares can only take a mini Nimh, but with lipos becoming more and more used even that makes no odds.
Some say the plastics are better on the Ares but personaly i couldnt see it, also the coulor of the plastics is supposed to be closer to RS, but not ever laying a hand on the RS i couldnt confirm that either.

I would say you couldnt go wrong with either one.

Ares....
Ive owned Ares, Star, AA and ICS. The only one I still have is Ares.
It performs better, range, ROF, reliability, internals are awesome - stick a tightbore in there and you're away.
I spent 14 years using the real thing and in my opinion, Ares externals are the most accurate.

Ares make sure its the new version with the metal gearbox though, dont get the star with the plastic box.
