Fading My Camo On Purpose
5 February, 2009, 18:23
Just received my first bit of real multicam today, and annoyingly my knock off HK vest is noticeably brighter.
I'm looking for a way to fade down the vest, without ruining the whole thing. I am sure I saw an article about a thin spray of Krylon paint before, but I can see that ending in disaster if done wrong.
The other option would seem to be take off all the pouches, and stick it in the wash?
Any thoughts?

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer...

roll it in mud, stick it outside for a week to let the elements sink into it and then wash on a low heat. Just done it on my tigers

Re: Fading My Camo On Purpose
I was thinking stick it in the wash, but I do know what you're talking about with the Krylon, the US guys do it all the time. Check out ASR mate...

Re: Fading My Camo On Purpose
If you Krylon just make sure you are FAR away from it so it gets a light dusting.
I would advise Airsoft Retreat for more information like others have said.

Re: Fading My Camo On Purpose
Ive tried kryloning my gear before, and even though im good with guns it didnt look right. Ive washed a tac vest before, but its the weather thatll do a lot of it- get the dirt and the sun and the bad weather into it and youll be sorted
