i was told that if i buy a smart charger i could cut the plug off of the normal charger and connect the smart charger to the. would this work.? i dont want to buy one just to end up wasting money.

You could just buy an adaptor to allow you to charge standard AEP batteries off a tania mini type connectors and use that. If you mean the varipulse pro peak 2500 (at least i believe that's the name (the yellow box shape one)) then i guess that in theory cutting off the wires and pugging them in should work as i believe that's how they work. However i have never owned one of the above so i may be wrong. I can however vouch for the adaptor as i own and use one :D.
