Too good to be true?
24 August, 2011, 02:19
I was searching for some upgrade parts on a certain asian website when I saw a full cylinder upgrade kit for the VSR for just $56!
It apparently has full metal construction and it look like it had a 90 degree piston/sear.
This is what it says it includes:
Full Metal Construction
-- For VSR-10 / BAR-10 Sniper Rifle
-- Package include Cylinder Set, Trigger and Piston Set
-- Silver Color
I can't put a picture on because it's watermarked with the retailer, do you think this is too good to be true? Or should I just try it because it will be £45 ALL IN the the UK?

Re: Too good to be true?
For £45 it's your choice dude,
In my experience it's often too good to be true.
I dont know much about VSR's though. How much is a similar upgrade from the UK?
Last time I priced up an L96 upgrade, to get a 500fps full upgrade was about the price of the gun - that covered the spring, barrel, trigger set, cylinder set and piston set. I

Re: Too good to be true?
I for one own a VSR and I wouldn't risk filling it with parts that aren't rated, but that's just me. If you do buy it and it's all pot metal, well that's the risk, but I'll always go with Laylax or PDI in my VSR.
Just food for thought.

Re: Too good to be true?
From what I can tell these only came on today so I think I'll just get one, might be pretty good. From what I can tell this is the ARMY brand, which would cost around £150+ for the same upgrades from the UK.

Re: Too good to be true?
I know china is generally cheaper but IMO 1/3 of the price says something stinks!
If you're willing to risk it then fair enough. But after comparing prices I would avoid

Re: Too good to be true?
Saying that I have brought things imported for say £100 all in that I`ve then seen uk shops selling for £200 or even £300 its not unthinkable but its not common place either.
Its normally that postage that kills most of the savings

They hate you THAT much??.....lol.
There is a person on these forums who does some very nice kits for a lot less than the Laylax and PDI kits. Can't remember his name though as I spoke to him on a different forum.

Does he have a little UK based web store with APS and VSR cylinders? If so, I was literally just looking for that again, I forgot the link..

Yeah, we're on about the sane thing
That's because they are 90 degree sears instead of 45. They put much less wear on the cylinder

Re: Too good to be true?
To the OP, I would say go for it, worst case the kit brakes and you put the stock internals back in. Its not a lot of money after all
