Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
You can chat to me, PM me if you want, but Lost Souls is to get contact details, not for discussion (if that helps?)

The real stupid ones, or the ones who are determined scammers? Trust me, the amount of people that come back (and we catch) is quite high (a big thanks to the diligent forum members!), let alone the odd ones that slip through the net. At least people with bad iTrader ratings should be avoided. sadly that isn't always the case...
As users we are our own first line of defence, but even the most diligent get caught sometimes
Used once, the AEG wasn't much better, can't name and shame on here but I'd avoid Mrs 'once you pop you can't stop' :p

That's exactly why we need some form of public forum,i could have bought something from the same seller after this had happened,it wouldnt take any more "modding" than a normal forum section.
Feedback doesnt tell the whole story
Maybe all for sale thread's must have picture's,that would surely help with paypal claim's.

Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
The thing is, as ive had with a buyer a deal shouldnt go ahead unless the seller and buyer are willing to show a form of id... of course yes it takes a bit longer but i sold a M14 SOCOM on here and it wasnt cheap... guy asked to see my License and i had no problem with that...
when someone isnt willing to show ID then be concerned
But then again thats just my opinion
If you ever need any weightlifting, protein or gym advice let me know.

Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
I think when you sign up you should have to take a picture of you and some form of ID. No ID, no trading.

Doesn't work, BAMF proved that (unless he actually IS an Iranian woman?)

Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
It is getting worse, i`m having problems with a "reputable" member, no goods, no tracking and now no messages, despite being online. After this deal i`ll no longer buy and sell here.

I am Fizzy!
You know that by now. Or am I an 82 year old Yugoslavian soldier?
I can never remember with all of my multiple personalities.

granted, not as busy as here, but the way they ran their sales in various forums over the years gives the users confidence in the sales area, may be worth noting they do not permit two tone sales and don't appear to have the younger players attention and the area doesn't get abused, genuine complaints are usually solved quickly, malicious complaints just don't happen, The user feedback area works great too, using a template to leave descriptions, url etc, any user can set up their own feedback thread, if someone posts dodgy/unwarranted feedback the post is reported, the area needs ZERO moderation as NO user wants their good rep tarnished, it works (for them) whether it could work here is another thing due to the ridiculous amount of scammers on here
Arnies is quite similar to that setup and its 100 times bigger and busier.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
id love to trade on this forum rather just than at my local site however after hearing these stories i am scared to trade things so i ask that the item is sent to me first when ive recieved it i will them post mine (only when the swaps thread is one i made) so it acts like a ususal sales thread you send the item when the payment is recieved however many people wont do this saying that i myself am a scammer which isnt the case i am new to this forum i may only be a "cadet" but ive been airsofting for many years now

Re: Bad trade numbers on the up?
There are issues arising with showing forms of ID due to the ease of which they can be cloned very very easily, I think if you set up an account on here, you have to first provide a defence/ukara/membership number , and if you are under 18 you must declare this, sales should also be restricted to over 18's in all sections when it comes to guns, I have been skanked and ripped off twice this week, I have an advantage in my profession of legally being able to find out your details from just a few details I ask you to provide.
But other ppl aren't that fortunate, with me there is always an angle to get my money or goods back, it's not nice to get ripped off and the fact it's summer holidays isn't gonna make a difference to kids if they have managed to rip some one off alreadythey will keep doing it over and over, if we take a hard line stance and have rules whereby you must declare before buying who you are where you play and your age, prevention is better than detection.. Rather than react to it we as good airs frees need to police it ourselves..

Just a heads up Andre. You aren't
legally
able to obtain information even if given 'certain details' mate.
This is a breach of the data protection act, which may constitute a criminal offence in itself. Even in my profession, reasonable grounds have to be established before access to PNC is granted to establish and confirm a person's I.D.

Mate, just apply sense, once you've been on the forum a bit, you can pick em out v easily. No offence to them but you'll notice the majority of people who are scammed are new to the forum, orrrrr more contraversially give the impression they are a little younger than they should be.
Note to the forum, i said majority, not all, because the older or more forum experienced guys know how to get it sorted or have the luxary of high feedback and get stuff sent first

Just thinking out loud here guys
but cant the mods on here some how put a link straight to your facebook page on you profile, All genuine people i think would not have a problem with that !
When ever i buy something i look for good comms a bit of a haggle
Last thing you want is to be had over by some nob !
Id rather only have my friends on facebook, i made the mistake of accepting a guy on facebook after i sold him something on here and he never left me alone!
asking me what he should do in terms of upgrades and scopes and whats the best ammo to use
i had to tell him to sod off! my facebook is for my private (and busines) life
But as trading/sales go on here, i only trade with a few people i trust on here and anyone new has to provide all the info i ask for, otherwise they can go elsewhere
