  • Anybody Know The Correct MP5 Mag Trades?

Was a little bored, so decided to white the trades on the MP5 mags. Not seen it done before anyway, wonder if there is a good reason?!

Anyway.....after I had done it I was wondering if they were correct trades anyway.

    They say:

    9mm x 19
    IF

Does anybody know what that stands for? I was wondering if the IF was "Imitation Firearm" and I've coloured in the wrong bit?!

    Anyway, here is the result:

i dont know them exactly, but i do know they should say "Kal" (kaliber, obviously :p) somewhere... i dont remember where though. I dont know what IF is, but id guess it isnt there on the real deal

On the MP5 body it says:

      Kal.9mmx19

Just not on the mag, lol.

Right, i happen to be at a friends house, whos father just happens to be a reasonably senior member of the police force. He says the only markings he ever noticed were where it has the markings on yours, but on the other side, it would say MP5 HK where 9x19 is o yours, and a 4 digit code looking like 45/86 below it. on the other side, written vertically on the mag about half way up (im now talking about the same side as you can see in your photo) was an etched 11 digit serial number, but he believes this was added by the police.

        hope that helps

I guess the police would put marking on, because they need to make sure they know where everything went. I'd think (but i know nothing) that "normal" mags would just have the caliber.

But don't quote me on that!

everything produced has a serial number by everthing i mean mags guns and even scopes for instance.
some special forces units have the trades removed so the gun purchases can not be traced.

Only markings I remember were the 9x19 and a serial/part number of some sort. Both were stamped into the mags and weren't coloured in

I found this if it helps.

                    http://www.botachtactical.com/hkmp59mm30ma.html

just click on image to enlarge it

as you will see it has made in Germany down it, and if you look carefully near the bottom it has what looks like the cal. markings not coloured in.

But i like what you have done i might steal it

Most real steel the markings are not coloured, but I do think it looks a bit "pimp" :D

Plus, if lost I can say with white trades, rather than I scratched my initials in them, lol.
