Custom pieces for your guns
27 October, 2011, 23:35
Hey just thought I'd start a thread about custom made parts for your guns, from wood to metal and plastic post if you have made any attachments or parts here, hopefully with pics. I made my verticle grip from a solid block of vinyl plastic, only one 100% unique ill get pics up soon ! Any other people made anything?

my dad is machining a new mp7 gearbox because TM decided to outsource the gearbox shell to china and still charge out the arse for the gun, surprise surprise it cracked but all being well should be done pretty soon, first couple of attempts were abit off.

Re: Custom pieces for your guns
You don't need a CNC machine to machine a gearbox.. I'd hazard that if his dad could afford a CNC machine then he could probably afford the most super duper after market gearbox available if there is on at all :P
Cheers,
Mac.

Re: Custom pieces for your guns
I made a new steel doodad arm for my Tanaka '97. The original was made of pot metal and just bent. I've also got to make and install a new steel extractor spring housing as the plastic one exploded.
I've also made 1911 internals when the originals failed and new bits were going to be just as crap as the ones that broke.

Re: Custom pieces for your guns
My dad owns a custom metal work company who make various parts for old cars specialising in engine work. It's not huge but enough to make small attachments. Also at my school we now have a new laser cutter, hoping to use it to make a new ris for my m16
