Changing our minds-An airsofters perogative
1 November, 2011, 13:06
Hi All,
I recently made a post stating my intention to get a VFC HK 416 AEG, now ive realised that they are far too expensive or and would much rather buy a cheaper AEG. So, im going down the M4 avenue and wonder if you guys could make some suggestions for me. My criteria are.......
-Ideally around £200-£250
-Full Metal construction
-Rear wired battery and stock
-Decent internals and externals
-Readily available replacement parts
-A gun good for CQB but good range for woodland.
I've looked around and im sure like a lot of you am completely spoilt for choice in the M4 market, i really dont know where to start.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: Changing our minds-An airsofters perogative
Whilst Boo is correct, reviews are where it's at and where you should start it often doesn't hurt to get a few ideas, the big problem is when asking people's opinion is that they always just say their own M4 is the best haha. One thing which is on the horizon is KWA's electric recoil, looks pretty good from the initial previews, but that may be too cutting edge. If so maybe start with Kings Arms or G&P....

Re: Changing our minds-An airsofters perogative
it might cost a little more but the asg 'specter' could be a contender for you - swappable uppers means you can have the best of all worlds with different 'profiles' available as and when you can afford them/need them.
The VFC was probably a top quality choice matey - dont live to regret it by buying a cheap aeg just to save a few quid - read the reviews of the types of aeg your looking at and DONT fall into the usual kiddy trap of 'But what is the bestest!'

Re: Changing our minds-An airsofters perogative
Indeed, i understand everyone is used to seeing posts like this and I have been looking at reviews but I cant have a discussion with a review which is why I like posting. If it would make it easier I could list a few ive been looking at and get some peoples experiences/opinions.
I currently have a Ares UMP so the new AEG is an assault rifle addition to my armoury. Im not disregarding the VFC but once id added additional mags and batteries is was getting expensive and i wanted to consider a more affordable alternative.

The Specter is a marketing ploy. 99% of all M4 build have replacement uppers available, and at the same prices as well

My personal perspective is that I have held and molested a bunch of G&Ps which felt like rough lumps of metal while I own a G&G Proline which people have multiple times mistaken for a Systema to my surprise :V
