Would an airsoft gun kill a zombie?

a recent post on Facebook said "there is a zombie outbreak, your only weapon is the item to your immediate left, what have you got to fight with?"
luckily i had my m4 sat right next to me, which got me thinking, should the invertible happen, would an airsoft gun be a viable defence against a zombie?

i was thinking that aiming for the eyes would give you a decent shot at getting through to the brain, seeing as they are rotting piles of flesh after all.

what are you're thoughts?

Do you honestly think they would be legal if they could kill? (Actually... maybe a 500fps rifle with metal bbs if you hit them in the right place)
Perhaps you could disable their vision but that's just not feasible with 20 or so of them coming at you.
Even a 9mm pistol would probably have trouble killing them if they are as dangerous as they are in movies. You'd really want a shotgun so the brain just gets mushed up completely.

i was going with the theory that zombies are decaying so the flesh would be more fruit like. bb's can rip though a can of coke very easily, so soft rotting flesh i imagined wouldn't be too much of a challenge

dear god man what have you done *jumps behind the sofa and awaits the trolls* if they're not lethal against people what makes you think they're going to kill the undead, maybe if you had something like a gbb whached the power upto over 1000fps with an npas kit and aimed for the eye's with a metal bb maybe just maybe you might kill em.
luckily for me i own a couple of ptw's and a stoner 63 they're both quite heavy so i'm sure i could bludgeon one to death

ive killed hundreds of zombies with my airsoft guns

because you know..my sniper rifle fires at the same speed as a 45acp round..and i saw the bb hit him and everything
and he groaned hit! n walked off..so i must of killed it

I know i would kill a zombie but i wouldn't do it with an airsoft gun i would go shaun of the dead on his undead arse, cricket bat and vintage records ftw.
