  • How would i..

Hi guys, i was wondering if any of you could help me.

How would i go about changing my ICS m4 with a solid stock, to have a crane stock or other form of stock at the back, which was adjustable, and had battery storage. basically, im looking for any way to have batteries at the back, without using solid stock or a batt bag, with the stock being adjustable. idally a drop on fit would be good, but i can deal with minor modifications. if they're simple.

    thanks

Well, as he already has a solid stock I'd guess it's already wired to the rear.
You'd have to fit a stock tube and thread the battery connector through the stock tube. At a guess, you'd have to replace the large battery connector for a small one to get it though the tube and crane stock batteries come with small connectors (or at least they do if it's a CA or Prime style crane stock, G&P ones differ)

i thought ics m4's had recievers that pretty much differ from everyone else, meaning that i didnt think there was any stock tube available to buy for them.
          i might be wrong though.

Not sure, but you may need an ICS stock tube if that is the case

They are different. The receiver has a hunk of metal that bolts onto it, and the stock bolts onto that as oppose to the gearbox. However, I vaguely remember I managed to fit an AGM crane stock onto my old ICS M4. I think.

Anyway, assuming it does fit, just refit a small connector and thread the wires through the stock tube as Fizzy said.

Thanks, yea, if i can get it on, get it to fit, and get it to work (i.e, fully extend and fully retract) then the wiring isnt a problem. But im told the rear of the ics is different than other m4's and normal stock tubes dont fit without heavy dremmel work, which can damage the frame, so i dont want to do this ideally.

you might also find afterwards that even with a successful fit, the crane stock won't adjust and move back and forth. unless it sits right with the batteries it can jam..
