USA airsoft prices ?

Why are airsoft guns A lot cheaper in the u.s ? I was just looking on zero one at some guns I'd like and I looked over the web and came across a American site where guns are like 50% cheaper than any other site in the uk . Is it to do with the laws or something ?

Importing goods from China is cheaper in the US than in the UK basically. The exchange rate is probably more favourable towards the $ too

Because our government adds v.a.t and duty onto certain goods entering the country and retailers have to make money aswell.

I'd imagine many reasons, one being they have a much larger market over there. Retailers can buy in much bigger orders and save money.

Everything's cheaper in America, why would airsoft be any different? Britain's one of the most expensive countries in the world to live in, the pound is certainly one of the highest value currencies.

I'd imagine many reasons, one being they have a much larger market over there. Retailers can buy in much bigger orders and save money.

I'd say these are probably the main reasons.

Because zeroone is like 50% more expensive than anywhere else in the uk.

I wouldn't say that's totally true, Their TM Pistol prices are low compared other UK shops, and the same goes for a quite a few of their AEGs.

I think that answer has been given as it seems to be bash Zero One week at the moment, depends what your after though, some stuff it cheaper, ie: SOPMOD batteries and recoil guns etc but looking at the Masada's they are £100 more than most other retailers, depends what you want though.

Yes, airsoft stuff is cheaper in the US, it's even cheaper in HK.

As for Zero One, they may be the cheapest, they may not. Basically, as with anything, it pays to shop around

Yeah I didnt know if it was also to do with the laws in the uk as I may make it harder to acquire them.

The laws on importing from outside of the EU maybe. Every retailer in the UK is comparatively tiny when you look at the US and HK stores.

Combine all that VAT and import duty with the fact that UK stores only make small bulk purchases and you end up with higher end-user pricing. Not to mention the fact that running a premises (and all that implies) and paying staff is very expensive, as with everything else in this country.

I was speaking to a couple of Americans who were moaning about paying $3.40 a gallon for gas (petrol) . This works out at ~57p a litre so its not just airsoft that is more expensive.

In fact ALL electronics , Consoles, video games etc are 30-40% cheaper in the US

but then again thats alot to due with them paying a hell of a lot less tax than us, and not having such benefits as free health care, you must have known about their fuel prices, half the reason we complain about ours, hell some countries even pay 3p a litre for it.
