How do you maintannance your gun?Which method do you use?

I was wonderting how do you maintenance your gun?what kind of oil do you use and how did you do it?

Any comments will be much appreciated

Silicon Spray easily available from all good airsoft retailers and most good motor spares stores.

Oh and silicon grease for metal slides on pistols etc.

With my AEGs generally I just clean the barrel using silicon oil every couple of games or if I've been playing at a dirty site*
Other than that unless I hear anything that sounds wrong with my guns I don't generally open them up.
When I do open them up for maintenance I use teflon grease as it's a cheap all purpose grease for airsoft.

With my pistols I tend to just field strip them and lube the slide with silicone oil and spray a little into the hammer and trigger mech and clean the inner barrel after most games. If my pistol is really dirty and I have grit and crap up in the mag well I'll totally take it apart and give it a clean and lube.
I'd not recomend totally gbbs apart though unless you really know what you're doing as it can be complicated to put them back together.


*one with lots of dust or mud that could have got down the barrel

Lidl's have a big can of silicon spray for 99p in just now.

I dust the gun with that on the exterior and then take the cleaning rod with a bit of cloth on the end, spray that with silicon olil and give the barrel a good cleaning, repeat with different cloth heads until the cloth comes out clean

I use the cigarette filter tip trick to clean the barrels after every game. Filter tip goes in, spray down the end of the barrel with silicone spray, fire the gun. Clean barrel!

My GBB pistol gets a total strip and re grease after getting dusty, other wise every couple of games.

My AEG gearbox gets a strip and re grease every 6 months or so.

I vacuum all my guns and gear after a game and spray a little matainence gas in to mags, will proberbly do the barrel fillter thing after my last game of the year and maybe have a shop service done on one or two of them

im going to be honest ...

nothing haha very very occasionally give the gas blowbacks a bit of silicone spray.. thats about it - keep meaning to get some maintenance gas for them but for the past 5 years i have never used and never had any leaks

can honest say ive never done anything to any AEG i own since getting my first guns about 5 years go

About once every two months I dissasseble, clean and regrease all my AEGs. My pistols and GBB M4 get a basic takedown and clean/silicone spray. My M99 gets a full clean and service after every skirmish.

I clean my AEG barrels using the plastic rod and a chopped up makeup pad, that's it

Wow I have 4 gun but I never cleaned any of them,However I just bough a silicon gun oil from Z1 and I am going to clean after tomorrow game

Well I cant find any silicon oil for 99p mate......I got my from Z1 for £4.95....!!A bit costly but I cant find any cheaper
