Re: Red dot ACOG or Crosshair ACOG
erm well in real life acogs arnt red dot so i really hate red dot aimpoints especially as there are better red dot sites out there on the market
eotechs, aimpoint and assorted reflex sights that all do a better job
get an acog if you want the 4x zoom version
that what i think anyway

Star 4x Acog with the cross hairs are fantastic, well worth the money.

Re: Red dot ACOG or Crosshair ACOG
from my experience acog quality in descending order
real acog, G&P acog, STAR acog, clone agog - get cheaper and lower quality as you go but from my experience they are all damn good sights
as a small bonus the clone acog comes with fake trijicon trademarks which is cool

So would you recommend a acog clone or a eotech for an m4a1?

Re: Red dot ACOG or Crosshair ACOG
if it was a real acog you wouldnt have it
the fibre optic amplifies external light and illuminates your reticule
no batteries!
...
if you want an aimpoint, eotech or reflex sight (i hate saying it but if i say cod 4 red dot then youll probably know what i mean)
personally i recommend an acog - you can still use iron sights through the base, or using the top mounted ones if it has it, it gives you 4x zoom which is handy for ranged shots (even if they are only at a medium distance) and you can fit a red dot on the top if you want for quick targeting - ie. if you were in the woods then suddenly went into a hut or something
