Radio Headsets
31 October, 2009, 18:05
Hey guys,
Just wanting some advice really (mods move if in the wrong place).
Got a pair of cobra MT600's on the way to me and was wondering what you guys think the best headsets are to use for airsoft that are cheap (i.e. i dont have 100 quid to spend on a headset so ideally a cheap but good throat mic or bowman type)
I have a 2 pin motorola adaptor that converts from 2 to 1 pin so two pins shouldnt be too much of a worry.
Either reviews, recommendations would be nice, also links and/or pics please with model names etc so i can look up prices.
Cheers for any help

Re: Radio Headsets
What's it like? I heard the Hong Kong ones have volume issues?
I used a throat mic before, and they not bad. They can rub, which is annoying. Not so bad, I'll get another one soon. I can't use the Bowman style with my mask as it turns out!

Re: Radio Headsets
The Bowman headset replicas (Cavalry Elite) work surprisingly well. Not sure how durable they are, haven't used mine all that much, but I'd recommend them

Re: Radio Headsets
Has to be able to fit under a boonie and also i use a neck muffler/face cover to cover my face when sniping or in cqb enviroment.

Re: Radio Headsets
The replica bowan headsets are pretty good, they seem pretty durable, had mine for a while and'll only set you back ~£20. A lot of my team have them and I dont think any have broken yet
On the other hand you can get covert headsets, looks like the thing secret service use. Works nicely but I found the earpiece tended to fall at the worst times. Again, you can get them for £20
Both'll work with a bonnie, the neck muffler could be an issue when talking into a mic so you may be better off looking down the throat mike road

Swimmer ones are pretty good, not had any problems yet. Delivery Is a bit of a pain though. The ptt button is a bit big though, about the size of a pack of 20 tabs

Re: Radio Headsets
i use a seal throat mic on my motorola's rich and on terry's cobra's and no problem , no vox troubles or self beep now replaced the batteries , can hear me crystal and hear you perfect due to the accustic tube, mine works when whispering , you know because of the stalk's we do ,
Also used the Bowman copies, they are ok good quality for price but dont expect it to be perfect , they nice to wear , but can chafe on head under boonies. . .

Re: Radio Headsets
Bowman because it looks like it has more ear room. But otherwise just choose the one you want, they're essentially the same thing

Re: Radio Headsets
Go for whatever go's with the loadout you're using, swimmer for U.S, Bowman for UK.
I had a Toto cavalry headset, no volume issues, fits easily under a boonie, and the boom mike picks up sound very well, so should be fine with the neck muffler.

Re: Radio Headsets
i bought some copies of bowmans from gaffa on here a while ago they work fine with cobras the volume even works still loud but it does work.
the only issue i have had with mine is the pin is slightly wrong for one of my cobras but works fine in the other one of them.
