New to forum, Essex based Airsofter
21 June, 2015, 15:10
Hi all,
Just joined the forum and thought i'd say hi.
Been airsofting for a while now and regularly go with my daughter, a mate and his son. We are based close to Colchester in Essex and have been going to Colchester Airsoft Bunker 39. It uses the MOD land at Fingeringhoe and has a mix of woodland, open and a couple of houses for CQB and we always have a fun time.
I'm looking at visiting Gunsmoke (if they ever answer my email about minimum age, my daughter is 12) and Airsoft GB for a bit of variety. They are both local sites and look good.
We may even venture to Billericay as I hear thats good too. We seem to be spoilt for choice!
Cheers

Re: New to forum, Essex based Airsofter
Hey man,
From Chelmsford myself. AirsoftGB were good people but I thought the site was underwhelming, basically just a small farm rather than a dedicated airsoft field (just my opinion) Did Billericay Skirmish this weekend, a better site that was more developed, but mixed opinions of how well organised it was. Pretty sure they take escorted 14 yr olds, but there were what seemed to be a younger group with no obvious adult, so they might be ok with your daughter being 12 and with you. Worth the enquiry. The plantation in Billericay is next on my list.
anyhoo, welcome to the forum

Re: New to forum, Essex based Airsofter
Hey there welcome another Essex softer
Well thankfully having tried a few sites in Essex and Suffolk plus ones further afield it is nice to have a choice where to go.
Billericay is nice as different feel to it good game zones in places generally good gameplay and hit taking, but couple of Teflon every now and then.
Gunsmoke is one I'd like to try, it was setup as paintball and then 2 lads joined bringing Airsoft to it, the site seems promising but when was there very very wet, the game zones are separated by tape so boundaries are used, different way of playing but also the same zones are used for paintball so paint could be everywhere.
Ravens near Ipswich is another nice woodland site and good friendly feel to it again good game zones mixed in with some cqb style areas.
Sandpit down bluewater is nice, huge site in the quarry good games and friendly staff, quite a big turn out but appeared from what I saw is well marshalled.
Sadly it seems Fallout in Chelmsford has closed, the site, also a 4x4 site, looked very promising but think not enough interest to keep it open??!?
There are few others around but think there is a good mix of sites within an hours drive to Colly to keep you interested, as for age wise not to sure but surprised that you're still waiting for replies as surely to get new regulars and keep them is what a site is after.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I'll try emailing Gunsmoke again and may give Billericay a look. Ipswich isn't too far either.
Again, thanks for the welcome.
