    Evenin' Folks!

    Hey All,

    I haven't been airsofting for around 18 months, my father moved to Canada and I kind of lost the motivation to go and just hung out with friends. However now I am wanting a hobby again and really would like to get back into airsoft.

    I attended a game last month and have really caught the bug again, however I am just trying to get enough money together to start off again, as I got rid of 90% of my stuff when I stopped playing.

    I am going to wait until I can get UKARA registered until I buy myself a RIF, I am looking at the VFC SCAR-H SSR Gen 3 if anyone can shed any light onto the pros and cons to this gun I would be very appreciative; I have looked around for reviews and there is next to nothing from what I can see, bar a few simple youtube videos.

    I will be sure to stay active and keep on the forums as it seems like a great resource for not only airsoft related topics but for general banter.

            Welcome and enjoy your stay man!

            On the SCAR front remember the H takes larger mags so will have to kit specific for them rather than the L which takes generic M4 mags.

              aha Its easy Fizzy...just follow a few tutorials and play about until you think ''Hmm that looks okay!'' :P

              Thanks Pope, I was not aware that the H didn't take the same mags as the L...also wasn't aware that the L's took M4 Mags. May have a look into a SCAR-L ...what differences are there between the H and the L...other than the mags...I am pretty much a noob aha.

                In terms of Airsofting, nothing other than the lower receiver and mags. In the real world, the H is 7.62mm and the L is 5.56mm

                  If you were say to get an M4 mag based gun in the future you don't have to re pouch and can chop and change mags easier with the L.

                  Scar H mag (afaik the VFC will NOT take any SR25 mags)

                    Thank you to the both of you, you've been quite helpful

                    I might have a look at the SCAR-L then seen as the mags are easier to source and as you said if I were ever to obtain another gun that took M4 mags it would save money and mean I would already have the pouches/vest set-up for them.

                    Not completely set on a gun as of yet, still looking. Been looking at the G&P M4's aswell if you have any insight on these that would be helpful...anything from frequent problems or general feedback

                      G&P have arguably the best externals going. They could 'usually' do with a change of hop rubber and maybe a spring change if your site limits you to a rigid 328fps but that's about it

                        Had a G&P M4 before my SOPMOD, brilliant gun and as fizzy said amazing externals cant fault the out of box performance either. G&P Defender/Sentry are quite popular guns on this forum.

                            Thanks for the fast response Fizzy and Pope, you both are being a great help :D might take a more in depth look at G&P then seen as it seems to of got the thumbs up.

                              Yeah G&P, can pick an M4 up for around $290 from some HK retailers - got to get it here though and that's sometimes the trouble...
