A lot of my friends have committed to Airsoft for many years, I have now decided to FINALLY join them!!!
I should start purchasing items in the next few weeks.

You can't go wrong with an MP5/M4 with a Hi cappa or such like for an ideal begginer package. Will you be playing woodland, or CQB?

M4/Mp5/G36 are good start rifles.
For a pistol, Im looking for a P226. Although any m9/colt will do for beginners.
