Ooh, are Real Sword going to see a challenge for most realistic AK? Finally we get a 74 we can beat bears to death with!

The cynic says they will just be re-branded CYMA.

Re: IZMASH to produce Airsoft guns

as pointed out, they're either going to make the externals that'll be bloody gorgeous and have someone (likely CYMA) produce the internals. OR they're going to go whole hog, sidestep LCT and do it properly and have someone considered more "high end" finish off.

            Preferably the latter.

either way serious dents in the bank balance if these come out remotely near the release of the pp-19

Re: IZMASH to produce Airsoft guns

Judging by their promo video , they are looking at doing quite a range and they will be made by them .

They are very strong too judging by the video showing them being used as ladders and stretchers !

It looks like they will be getting as close as possible to real dimensions too

They look very nice...can't wait for some reviews on the kit, see if its worthwhile investing in one.

I'll stick with my LCTs, beautiful guns, affordable price and no proprietory mag system, and the internals are fantastic too. Best AKs on the market in my opinion.

The idea is that it's an Izhmash gun without being outsourced...

                          more ak variants is good!

I hope they release the SN version of the Vityaz!

Re: IZMASH to produce Airsoft guns

                            Some news:

                            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC1SxHiIcys

At the expo, the gearbox used currently in the prototypes are heavily upgraded CYMA V3 ones. They plan to keep CYMA gearboxes, but the actual internal components will be of superior quality installed by Izhmash. This might be subject to change as the actual gearbox in the prototype looks different and there are in fact talks of Izhmash using existing gearbox designs, but with modifications, so some aftermarket parts will be compatible.

The magazines are not proprietary. Different makes of magazines will be compatible in addition to the ones Izhmash produce.

The barrel, gas block, and front sight assembly will not be held by pegs, but will be stamped together, as on the real one.

The modified shape and fitting of the gearbox (as you can see in the video) allows the use of the full folding stock mechanism that the real one uses, meaning that Real Sword's Type 56-2 stock will no longer officially be the strongest in airsoft.

Still no word if the V3 gearbox being used will allow for real dimensions or if the 6mm airsoft version will be 5mm longer than the real one.

Officially, the prototype stage is described as in "beta" testing, so it isn't far off. Izhmash do their work well, and they do it fast.

They also hinted that a GBB SVD and SVD-S is in the planning stages.

WOW I'd love to see that... Makes want to wait for their GBB SVD instead of the RS!
