You know the very odd thing is - They say it only shoots at 280 fps....

I think they are trying to encourgae a little spring upgrade :D

no it isnt - most places 125, and thats after a recent price hike. the g36c is gunna sell like hell though!

The price of the 416 depends on if its plastic or metal most places are £125 for the plastic and £190 for the metal versions

I'm inclined to believe that the 416 is in fact the new 2008/09 model, which is in fact full metal with an inbuilt MOSFET...

I did also think that, but the new JG HK 416 comes with a crane stock.
Also Z1 dont mention anything about the metal body or MOSFET in the description.

This is definatly a good move by z1, epecially with all the price rises they needed to offer some cheaper models and i hope they expand the range.
