Sorry Sigrun, but that is bullshit. Essentially, you are arguing that relatively low level crime should be ignored, presumably unless it affects you directly, because what you see as higher level crime is not dealt with in the way that you would like.
I get that you are "anti-establishment"; that comes through loud and clear on your Facebook page. However, your argument makes no sense whatever.
No, what I'm saying is crimes against actual real people are more important than crimes against the state. The state, however, very clearly thinks the opposite and that is morally indefensible.

I cant disagree there, the impact of crime to an individual reach much farther.

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment
Yeah because Timmy terrorist can make great use of your stolen ford escort......
All those secrets in manufacturing and that.
Everyone complains the mod wastes money yet everyone complains a sentence was to harsh because some guy was essentially selling state secrets to a guy in another country.
You do understand that don't you? How all of the gear stolen not only cost the tax payer to replace but also falls under the OSA and ITAR for some bits. You sell something stolen from stores on a military establishment you are in theory selling secrets because some of the kit is made from materials or includes technology not openly available to the open market.
But clearly a stolen ford escort could give someone the ability to unlock countermeasures to certain technologies.
I hate thieves through and through, someone steals my bike, I'll break faces and fingers but you know something? I know the defence of the country doesn't depend on my f**king motorcycle.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

A list of things that I can remember highlighted as going missing during my time at MoD (and no, I didn't nick them!), some of which certainly would have made a difference if you needed them but couldn't have 'em because someone had stolen them. They had some right witch hunts round DSDA back then to get a grip on the thieving toerags.
Boxes of new intensifier tubes
Full Jerrycans of F-54
Weapons mounts
Medical kits
FFD's
Clothing, vast, vast quantities of clothing
Lathes (it ain't just small stuff that got nicked!).
Body armour
Large quantities of spare parts for Land Rovers
Diesel generators
Bridging equipment
Tentage
Ration packs
Ammunition

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment
Sigrun, stealing from the MoD is not what you describe as a "crime against the state"; it is a crime against members of the armed forces and against the tax paying public who paid for those items. Ultimately, the victims of the crime are not "the state" but "the people". In addition, if the stolen items can be of benefit to those who wish us harm, then there is a potential additional crime against all of us.
I suspect that your oh so edgy "anti-establishment" stance has blinded you to the reality. I find it vaguely amusing that, the last time I saw you, you were wandering around in the uniform of an organisation that was very enthusiastic about getting rid of those who were "anti-establishment" and those who dared to commit crimes against "the state".

I have no idea where you saw me "wandering around", much less which uniform (German or Russian would be the candidates). Are you sure it wasn't a drunk person? I don't "wander", I attend milsims and it's not to make a political statement or support an establishment ethos either.

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment
It was you and it was an SS uniform.
I just find it somewhat amusing and ironic that someone who states: "No, what I'm saying is crimes against actual real people are more important than crimes against the state. The state, however, very clearly thinks the opposite and that is morally indefensible." would be wearing the uniform of an organisation to whom crimes against the state were far more important than crimes against real people.

Re: UCAP airsoft owner admits to stealing MOD equipment
Finding the irony/amusement of that specific facet in the context of the main point is a considerable number of levels removed, which is itself amusing. It certainly doesn't change the fact that the UK's justice-system is fundamentally corrupt. But then show me any state's that isn't; states as an entity always serve themselves before those they claim to represent (the public) and commonly use their justice systems as one of the arms to achieve it.
