Ares IMI Tavor TAR-21
24 April, 2009, 18:21
Ares are bringing out the Israeli high tech Assault rifle with some pretty cool features.
Comming in May the Single shot/full-auto AEG with bespoke metal QD sprung gearbox.
Features Include:
# Built entirely from Aluminium, steel and fibre reinforced nylon composite.
# Completely TM compatible bespoke metal gearbox.
# Uses standard M4/M16 magazines (one included).
# Chrono'd at 330FPS+ using 0.20g quality BB's.
# Rear accessed spring quick-change facility for FPS power change in seconds!
# Available in black, dark black and midnight black.
# Thanks to the 'Bullpup' design (short rifle, long barrel from mag at rear), awesome 60m plus range with high accuracy!.
# Ambidextrous cocking bolt/lever.
# Complete with MARS style red-dot scope and sighting laser (red) which is also removable.
# Length: 725mm.
# Weight: 3.5Kg.
Theres a review in Vol 2 of the Tactical Airsoft Review Magazine, which gave it a very favourable score. Retailing on preorder at around £450. Anyone intrested in this or getting on of these? I love Bullpup rifles, and this one looks awesome, although I don't like the wacky look it has when a full length M203 is mounted.

Re: Ares IMI Tavor TAR-21
coulpe of threads about this already and it looks like a cracking gun. The quick swap spring option is a must really for all new AEG's I'd say.
From the retailers that are stocking it (Pre-order only now) its a bit expensive being around £450.. but you do get that lovely optic with the built in LaZ0rz.
If I wasn't set on getting a WE Scar-h when they come out I'd snap one up. Maybe when the world fixes itself from this recession ill get one

The Light version in the video's but the H version is confirmed to be coming long as well.
Co2 compatibility out of the box which will give you a high FPS. Although the good guys at WE sell different nozzles on the firing mech which can limit it to roughly 110m/s.

Cybergun have a version of the tavor as well, though knowing cybergun itll be damned hard to find on any UK retailer's shop.

I think the cybergun version IS the ares one too. I know some of the cybergun AK's are rebranded cyma's and other guns are much the same. There pistols tend to be KJW and KWC's which again get the rebranding treatment.
Maybe cybergun bought or rather threatend to sue the crap out of Ares unless they got a cut of the sales or rebranding rights. AFAIK Cybergun holds alot of real steel copyrights for airsoft guns so it does make seance. After all the Ares one was in the cybergun booth....
Anyway whatever happens I hope its a good gun!
