Airsoft guns are NOT airguns and therefore, subject to discussions between minister North & South of the border, they would NOT be included in any legislation or licensing scheme.
The intention would not be to "restrict the activities of those who already use them responsibly.."
The Scottish parliament would establish a Scottish Firearms Consultative Panel to oversee any pilot licensing scheme. SASPRA's application to be included on any such body has been noted.
copy of a letter from Scottish parliament - Dated July 2008
There is a major difference between "legal definition" and "what the coppers think is the right definition"- people who put out their rubbish late are not terrorists, but was it not those very powers being used by councils to snoop on them?
It is a serious problem and a very important battle for airsoft to win, if Scotland bans it, then whats to stop a domino effect of bans in England, Wales and Northern Ireland?

The scottish parliment is trying to ban Alcohol as well.
They are starting with a price rise and minimum price per unit to make drinking too expensive.
But with no border control all that will happen is ASDA and TESCO in Carlisle will sell discount booze by the bucket-load to scots who cross the border to buy

haha if they indeed are trying to ban alcohol then they should just look at the example of america and what happened when they banned alcohol there, mass killings, a massive increase in the size of the black market and massive increases in gang numbers, size, and other violence. back to the thread question, if they did ban anything, without border control it would be what some internet folk would call an EPIC FAIL

Yeah but you guys have to remember that laws past In scottland will almost always pass throught the back door here, it's s way for a publicly hot topic law to come into action quitly then be expanded by are parliment...devolution isn't a safty net here as most of these laws are downing street drafted, take the drinking law reforms what With the smaller population and weaker younger parlimentry system I know that these storys are always cropping up but it is a worry there is no avoiding that.

I dont really understand what you're saying, the Scottish parliament has the same authority that Westminster does within the confines of its devolved powers.
