So I'm the only one who thinks it's the nicest looking Armalite ever?

Re: Madbull AR-57
As AR variants go, the 57 is one of the better looking ones. In my opinion, the only good armalites are the M16s, the M110 variants, then the AR-57. After that, it goes down hill...

The M16 VN is the nicest looking out of the Armalite family, but the AR-57 is up their.
If the HK 416 could be counted then it would be that

If you like M4-enstein LOL
It's like cutting a hole through the roof of a Ferrari then sticking a double sized exhaust system out of it through the roof. Why re-invent a P90. The P90 is butt ugly but it does what it does brilliantly.
Drop'm out with a low cap and save the environment.

What, be on the set of stargate?
The P90 although a great idea failed at what it was meant to be, a PDW for heli crews and tank crews, the mags were just not popular for it though and it had an awkward non NATO round which gave it a premium price tag.
The MP7 proved much more effective with its smaller 4.7mm round, transpires they had to make a whole new ballistic plate to with stand the armour penetration of the 4.7mm.
******* *****, I can kinda see the appeal, it is different and in this world of Armalites its nice to see a little difference, however P90 AEGs are renowned for misfeeding due to the mag design, so why have it on an 'Armalite'?
My thoughts, if you dont like Armalites, then dont get one, in fairness there is plenty of choice. Beta Projects are starting to get a really nice line up going now.

Re: Madbull AR-57
Apparently, NATO thought that the 5.7x28mm cartridge was superior to the 4.6x30mm cartridge, in terms of ballistics and in how similar it was to the existing 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition, which actually would have lowered production costs. However, the Germans (H&K perhaps?) and some other countries blocked the standardisation of the FN cartridge, probably because it would have harmed sales of their PDW cartridge, the 4.6x30mm used in the then only conceptual MP7 (P90 had been out for years at this point, and the Five-Seven pistol was in development). The H&K cartridge was actually much more damaging to gun barrels than the 5.7x28mm in the tests run by NATO. Plus, the P90 is used by police forces and military units in more than 40 countries, the MP7, in contrast, can only manage to find a use in about ten. The P90 ain't a failure by any stretch of the imagination. (And it's famous!)
Airsoft wise, as long as you use the low and mid cap magazines, there shouldn't be any feeding problems. It's only the P90 high-cap mags that tend to jam up, if they're looked after properly, they should work just fine. I can't wait to see one of those horrid M4 box mag conversions jury-rigged onto the AR-57 though. That would prove, without shadow of doubt, that god does not indeed exist.
Failure is always an option.

Re: Madbull AR-57
However further test proved the smaller round had a much higher velocity and a much greater penertration than even the NATO standard (not the Tea White 2 version either
), when you just look around at categories for SAPI plates and other ballistic plates, they added new ones for .50 and I quote from a manufactorer this line "the fiersome MP7 round".
I personally cant stand P90s, the simple fact that if you put a sling on a P90 it looks like a ladies 'going out' handbag.
I fully concurr with the lower part of your statement about the box mags though. Switch to plan B, kill it with fire.

Re: Madbull AR-57
Each to their own. P90 certainly isn't the best weapon system out there (I think the AK-47 holds that title for many countries), but in my opinion, it beats the M4 for simple intuitiveness (if that ain't a word, it is now!), and it's magazines can be used as a close combat weapon. Given the option of a TM Sopmod, or a TM P90, I'd go for the P90, not wholly because of Stargate SG-1 (but that is a large part of it), but because it isn't an M4. I'd rather have a springer pistol than an M4 at an airsoft game.
I guess the AR-57 is for those who like the M4, but want something that's a little bit different. It is the only M4/Armalite variant, outside of the M16/HK416 variants that I actually like.
