Your snakeskinned or similar pattern guns
26 May, 2013, 23:19
Looking to see how people have snakeskinned their guns. Colours on colours and different size netting and different netting shapes. Also wanting to see peoples own variation on it.
Would be good to see what people have done.
Thanks

That VSR is lovely. By any chance did you use scrim netting, I.e. a scrim scarf to do it ? Looks similar to a video I saw where he used scrim scarf. Makes it less uniformed with longer squares. What colours did you use in that ?

My gbbr, done with halfords camo spray paint. Base coat stripes of dark brown, then tan/khaki, applied scrim net randomly stretched then same procedure with dark brown then khaki. The wear is natural from use and being dropped plenty of times, still solid as a rock though!

Honestly I can't take credit for the paint job because I bought the rifle with it painted, but I painted the bipod and I used krylon sand and krylon woodland light green, which didn't match very well so I can confirm it isn't those colours. I painted a spotter scope the same as the bipod and I used cheap fishnet leggings and found I could stretch it to different size squares/diamonds. When I was finished I cut up the material and used it as a flash kill on the scope.

Either way looks cool, you have just tempted me into getting a VSR now as it does looks good.

The charging handle was part of an internals overhaul some time after the rifle was initially sprayed

It looks a bit like carbon fibre, good effort.

Re: Your snakeskinned or similar pattern guns
Exactly what someone else said lol, wouldn't do that pattern on anything bigger than a slide. Might have to give my M4 a dusting of tan/khaki and find some bigger netting. Thanks

Issue scrim net is the best, very versatile.
