Custom Tavors?.....

I'm looking for ideas to customise my Ares TAR-21. I know aftermarket parts for these guns are extremely limited, so i was wonding if any of you lot who have tavors have modded them somehow?

I've seen one with an 18" silencer, it looked terrible.

Things you can do are buy a pair of G36c handle rails, remove the awful MARS sight and replace it with a rail. You can then put the other rail in the off-side cocking handle slot and use it to mount a torch/laser, it's what the IDF sometimes do

I've screwed an inch long piece of rail on the hand guard/battery compartment. have had a bipod on it in the past but its got a stubby fore grip on it now. Medium sized suppressor, angled torch mount on front rail with CREE torch and pressure pad and an ACOG on the top. Not really a lot you can do with them :/

Sounds alright man, you got a picture? I've used epoxy putty on the handguard of mine to level it off, put i've not got round to fitting a rail to it yet

best thing I did to mine was put it back in the box and sold it whilst it still worked!

I've written to Ares, basically dripping about the lack of aftermarket stuff, and asked them to make a full lenght top rail-
They said it's in development... Yes please.

Here's mine - second generation Ares (MARS site dropped, longer barrel, improved wiring and trigger)



Only internal difference is the hot swap spring was replaced with a Madbull M100 to reduce the FPS from the tested 371 (at 25 degrees) - initially dropped it to 360, then after several mags (so about 250-300 rounds) dropped to 350, since then and several skirmishes now about 345.

- The top rail is the standard fitting Ares one
- Side rail is a G36 long rail
- Lower is from a certain Israeli shop that provides real-steel items...needed some minor modding.
- G&G SS80 supressor

Not much beyond that though, due to the lack of accessories as others have said - I have been toying with fitting a short rail section to the left side of the handguard for light mounting
