Re: Show me your homemade spray jobs
Here is my blackhawk down attempt
Best thing I find is to just get a few cans of krylon in some simular shades and go from light on the base to darkest.
Did something simular on my g36. Get some wet and dry paper on there to rough it up aswell, makes it look less flat.

I'm liking that. Is it difficult to do?

Not too difficult to do, wouldn't say I'm much of an artist. Just take your time with it. I used krylon, khaki, light brown, dark brown and black. Do the whole gun in khaki first then do the stripes starting with lightest and building up to black.

I usually paint all my rifles, dont like the clean look. This was my first attempt at an AOR1 paint job.

Loving that mikey, what colours did you use and what did you use to get the pattern?
Cheers

Re: Show me your homemade spray jobs
I used Krylon sand and Halfords camo brown. As for the pattern I just used some British scrim netting

That's awesome jester,
I wear multicam, but I think a multicam gun would be over the top.
What would you do? Go for a tan base and spray a slightly different colour in the pattern?

When spraying. Is there anything I should be aware of?

Make sure all surfaces are clean and grease free. to do my camo job I did two coats of tan as the base colour, I think I did one coat and then as per the Krylon instructions I did another coat 15 minutes later. Then I waited until it was touch dry (like maybe 30 min) before applying other coats.

Looks decent.
Is it alright to spray the magazine?

Re: Show me your homemade spray jobs
Yeah I did. I put one in the mag well and drew along where it goes into the well and taped it up as you don't want to ware off loads of paint in the well. I taped up the mag well when painting the gun also.
