Well, some parts, but yes. You can replace the cylinder internals with PSS-96 upgrade parts (I did it with mine).

The Gen.3 upgrade kit has a good enough barrel in it, BUT, you would definitely see improvement from an EdGI barrel. PM Leon_London as he was making an order.
