As far as I'm aware the AK47 was not based on the MP44. The M16 actually owes more to the 44 than the AK. Still with the curved mag you do always get people asking if its an AK when your at an event, even if you are dressed in full period attire

This is my A&k m249 SAW PARA with a G&P RANGER GRIP
complete with classic army hop up and barrel. think ive found my weapon of choice!
