No. MARS scope only operates with its own switch on the replica.

I'm in the same camp. Some times I look and thing they look really nice but others I think it looks like it's fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Ok, i know your probably sick of looking at this thing now.. and tbh so am i :D So i took into account what was said last time, and so stripped, sanded and resprayed it. Again. I made sure i did the stencils properly, and used different tone paints. So i was told that a bluey grey wouuld look better, so ive "stained" it after finishing the spraying with some blue, watered down acrylic paint. I decided that this is gonna be the last time i change the colour scheme on this, as quite honestly, its the worst thing, ever. so for one last time, what do you think? Tips to improve?

On a different note, that 416 up is THE SEX. I want one, so bad. I might well trade a kidney for one. And ive gotta agree with Tommy, the TAR21 is ugly, imo

Edit: And Dom S: I think you needed to listen when I made a point about UCP not having any black in it.

Guru, lovin the 36.. i just dont understand why its not a 36C :D personally dont see why people go for the longer ones, maybe its all the time ive spent playin call of duty that makes me view the C variant as the best one. Also, who makes your p229?

*EDIT: no dope on a rope, i never was intending to copy UCP. Im using the digitized effect with an urban colour scheme, black, dark grey and light grey. Its not supposed to even remotely be anything like ACU, UCP CADPAT, MARPAT or anything else. Its simply a digital pattern, hence me referring to it as a digital pattern, as opposed to any of the above. It was all just an excersise into seeing if i could do it to a good standard, with crisp edges and well proportioned, not about its effectiveness. I was very tempted to use a bit of purple as opposed to the lighter grey shade. Its all about the process and the quality of the result, not the colours i did it in :/ Im sorry it caused such an argument, i only painted it because the gun was originally 2 tone... lets move on now shall we?

Yeah he said he was going for urban digital and dope suggested ucp, then other people agreed to keep the black in because it blends better - which it does

well mate, i cut, make and spray stencils quite a lot as a part of a big art project, and although not on airsoft guns, im pretty experienced with them. Now when it comes to the digital style stencils youve done, what i would say is...

Firstly, the more layers, the more realistic. By layers i mean coats of paint, or colours. You have your base layer, then the next colour, and so on. The more layers, or colours, the more detailed and realistic. This applies to EVERY stencil, no matter if it is a banksy piece or your camo pattern. You seem to only have your base colour, then your top layer.

                      Heres the steps i do.

WASH THE SURFACE: Using a kitchen detergent, or CIF cream cleaner ect, i gently wipe the gun with a jay cloth. (those blue chequered ones). It removes all the oils and stuff secreted by the skin, which stop the paint adhering.

A quick note on spraying. When painting a colour or layer remember to paint in coats. The first coat of the colour, should be minimal, and should NOT cover the surface completely. Quick and fast sprays. Do not hold the cap down for more than a second in one place. Keep it moving. In fact, coats should be so thin, that each should take less that 15 seconds. Keep building up the coats. Wait about 10-15 mins between each coat. Over all id recommned about 3-4 coats per layer.

MASKING AND PRIMING: You may want to disassemble the gun and mask off movable parts. Obviousley use painters or making tape, ect.

PRIMER COAT: Optional, althrough really improves the paints life, and durability. Helps the paint to adhere to the gun. Make sure you choose a plastic primer for a plastic gun, metal primer for metal, ect.

BASE COAT: Your darkest colour. DO NOT USE BLACK. Black does not occur naturally, anywhere in nature. I know that digital camo jobs are not for use in natural environments, but the colour black will stand out horrifically. Even the military abandoned the colour black from their BDU's.

COAT 2: Your second lightest colour. The digital patters should also be the biggest youve cut out. Again remember to spray fast and light.

COAT 3: Your 3rd lightest colour. The digital patterns should be smaller than
                      those of layer 2.

COAT 4: If you choose to go this far, the colour should be the lightest, and the patterns the smallest.

                      FININSHING:

You could just leave it as i is, but it depends on how you want your finish to be. When i custom painted my xbox controller, i applied a few layers of enamel protection. This ensures the paint will stay hard and not crack. But it does give a glossy shine. If you want the protection, but no shine,im sure there are other products available.

So thats a quick guide to how i'd do it, based upon my experience of stencilling. This is how i do artistic stencils however, and there are a few issues to gun painting i probably havent touched on. If youve got any questions, message me

My bad. I was under the impression you were going for UCP, as you pictured it next to a ACU shirt. If you're just going for a generic digital pattern, I still prefer the other one. I can see you're making progress, in a way. Also, you're kinda going backwards. I can't really add anything to Kershmallow's post. So I wont.
