Now what interests me about that AK is the sight rail! I would love to know what its called (if it has a specific name) and if you can get an airsoft equivalent? The side mount impacts the my rifles folding ability.
I looked at that when I bought my front rail.
I think there's not enough room between the sight rail and the stock to allow it to fold all the way sadly :/
Only alternatives I could think of are the AK Sight Rail from Samson Industries
or the usual railed top cover tat :P

Re: Kalashnikovs
Can anyone with an ak74u post a pic of the pin that holds the upper forgrip in place please. Mine came with out one so need to see if I can make it. Does it also have a spring? Cheers.
Also after the upper receiver release button if anyone has one floating around.

As far as I know the V2 has a gearbox unlock switch in the magwell, as the V1 was extremely prone to locking up.

Re: Kalashnikovs
I spoke to *insert-airsoft-retailer* today, and they told me that;
The V2 has reinforcement in its stock which the V1 doesn't.
The V1 has a leather cheekpad which the V2 doesn't.
The V2 has something new in its gearbox relating to locking up (which I guess is what you're describing).
The V1 has nicer/more faithful externals.
I don't know if any of that's true, that's just what I was told.

Re: Kalashnikovs
Just a quick question to gents with the full stock cymas, what size li-pos do you fit into them? Going to make the switch and was wondering what size I need to be getting into the stock.

This wouldnt surprise me actually. I recieved a V1 RS SVD through the post(sold as a V2 by the way!), and it arrived with the wooden stock snapped off the body. There was also no cheekpad, and the externals were a much more dragunov typical shiny finish than the V2 RS SVDs Ive seen.

I think one of my squad-mates has a 5000 mAh battery to fit in his full stock Cyma AK. That's enough juice to keep even the most trigger-happy airsofter satisfied. Buying from RC toy websites is the key, airsoft retailers often have outlandish prices for similar products.
