Re: MP5 series SMG's
My new baby. Marui MP5-J My 2nd ever gun was an MP5A... something or other, exactly the same as this one, complete with sliding stock and torch foregrip but with SEF trigger group.
Im wanting to put together some sort of ARU or SAS look. Heres the very start of it!
Need a flash hider for it though as I dont like the plain threaded outer barrel look, and sometimes silencer is a bit OTT!

Re: MP5 series SMG's
Thanks :D Im not too keen on the high mount though, I think I'll be swapping that out for a low profile claw mount when the opportunity arises!

Is that the new ICS MP5 series? What battery are you using as I heard the new Barrel size makes getting regular Nimh Mini's in impossible.

Yes it is mate.
And yes battery space is a pain in the chuff!!
Without the oversize foregrip you are not getting a Nimh of any sort in there as its all outer barrel.
Im using a 7.4v cranestock lipo at the mo but hoping to get a torch foregrip and hopefully my regular lipo will then fit.

Re: MP5 series SMG's
My workhorse.
ICS MP5SD2, totally stock internals except for deans. Runs on 7.4v, 3000mAh, 35c lipo. Never been serviced, never been stripped and only ever cleaned between games. It's never let me down once in the nearly 3 years I've had it.
As I've been asked about this before, the duct tape on the stock is to secure the stock-adapter loop I've used. I've seen people rely on the rear sling mounts only to have them break, so I don't take any chances. The tape on the handguard is to stop the retaining pins going missing (a weakness with SD series MP5s).
In the last shot you can just about see that I've milled a hole and slot into the solid mount to allow the irons to be used still.
