From one Ghost to another, get the wire wool and dark woodstain out for that '44!!
Dark oak worked well on mine, then a liberal scraping over with wire wool, and finished with sandpaper. The STG should look beat to hell IMO.

I certainly will be! I've done it quite well with my PPSH (no pictures on here) means i'm confident, and all the knobbly bits sticking up on the reciever will look brilliant once sanded!

It does. I took out the internals for the finishing, last thing you want is all the sanded bits in the workings!!

Its on my list of things to do, i used the last of my wood stain on a particularly orange Ak wood kit so need to buy some more.
