Re: Sniper rifles
My latest L96, Well clone of the TM, Plan is to design and machine all of my own cylinder parts aswell as trigger sears should be a nice project, not put much time into the photos as i want to wait till i've painted the scope and got a decent setting then ill do some proper ones. Just need to choose a barrel then fit an ER-Hop and with a bit of fiddling and fairy dust should be a nice little shooter.
Any Recommendations on barrels? Been looking into 6.08 and 6.05 currently
Thanks guys!

its like calling a ar10 a m4
might look similar but shoots a different round
also its not a replica of the tm, tM created a replica of a AI L96-awp
what you have there is a WELL WARRIOR Accuracy International AWM replica

Re: Sniper rifles
No no no
7.62 x51 Ar10 designed by eugene stoner
Ar15 and M4 are the same weapon system
Right I'm a reasonable busy man no more lessons

My sincerest apologies,
I understand the correct name is the L115, I called it L96 in the post as the TM is named the 'L96-AWS' to avoid confusion, by replica I meant of the TM L96-AWS Which uses a different design to the standard maruzen based rifle due to the correct mag placement with feed ram, folding stock, fluted barrel and flashhider
One again, sorry for any confusion
Arran

I believe that AR15 and M4 would be a better comparison to my mistake, they are, like you say, the same weapon system, 5.56 except obviously the AR15 being the civilian version is semi automatic only, just like my mix up between the L115 and the L96 which are obviously the same base rifle made by AW, the AR-10 is a totally different rifle, hence like you say 7.62 calibre

Re: Sniper rifles
The name Ar15 is not a civvy designation it was just the name given by armalite before the sold the design on to colt
Armalite rifle-15
Then colt change it to m16
But the Ar15 destination is still owned by colt
The only civvy designation for that weapon system is the round...which is the .223 rem
The military versions take the 5.56x45 nato
- - - Updated - - -
L96 and the l115 shoot a completely different round
So does many of the accuracy international variants
The stock might looks similar but that's where it ends
L115a3 is only the British military destination
It's a Ai-awm
unless u build it to a l115a3 spec u can't call it that
one more thing, Well has done a very good job with this replica and i will be investing in one next week
but it seems like they went a bit lazy on the mag dimensions so they could use it on multiple platforms
ares makes the best airsoft awm replica but apparently the performance isn't all that..

As far as im aware the AWM or Arctic Warfare Magnum uses the .338 magnum round, same as the British 'L115', and the L96 fires a 7.62. Does that not mean that the AWM and L115 are in fact, the same rifle?
