Home made stock: opinions and sugguestions
21 April, 2011, 16:11
So the past week i'v slaved my arse off making a vsr stock, i thought to myself how hard can it be and i'm not going to lie it was very difficult. so this is close enough to the end product and i want to know what you think and what could be improved i.e. detail, colour etc.

It looks like the result of a VSR and Tetris having a passionate night together...

Yeah not a big fan of the design there mate.
I do think it would look alot better if you were to curve the edges a bit more...especially in front of the magwell and near the rear...looks a bit square at the mo in my opinion.
Also dye the wood...Id make it alot darker....the colour at the moment suggests a year 9 DT project.

Absolutely,
Just realised that my comment actually sounds quite nasty, certainly wasn't meant to sound that way! I agree with the above in that it's taken you a long time and you've stuck it out, so good on you.
What's it made of? It might look better stained?
EDIT: Kang you Ninja!

Re: Home made stock: opinions and sugguestions
having made one of these myself, kudos to you for trying.
but it does need rounding off, over all the body i think and as said, dye the wood.
But again very well done

Re: Home made stock: opinions and sugguestions
Not bad, just needs some contouring (especially around the pistol grip) as I don't imagine it being very comfy
I'd slap a few coats of Danish or Tung oil on that badboy too
Make sure you post pics of the end result!

Re: Home made stock: opinions and sugguestions
I'm liking whats going on with the front section, but i think the actual stock should be more rounded, and maybe more triangular?
