Re: Weathered Or Worn Look Guns
Another MP40.
Aged by "dry brushing" with silver spray paint on a piece of denim stretched taught so as to only apply paint to the areas that would naturally get rubbed. Didn't fancy doing the permanent sandpaper job on a brand new gun. If I did it again I would try adding a bit of dark blue/brown paint on the denim too.

The grips have been painted with acrylic paint to make them look like bakelite

Black gun, a rough coat of Krylon, without shaking up the can or anything, followed by a rub over with a rag covered in white spirit.

Re: Weathered Or Worn Look Guns
I'm going necro here. I've never been much of a fan of weathered looking guns, but I recently picked up this M870 Sawn-Off because I always wanted to have a shotgun on my back like Hicks in Aliens - "I like to keep this handy for close encounters."
It all looked too new though, so I've aged the black metal work and stripped and varnished the previously very cheap and new looking woodwork. The only problem now is that the woodwork looks quite new...

Re: Weathered Or Worn Look Guns
Real Sword Type 56-2
All Steel rubbed down with 1600 Grit Wet and Dry - Treated with Abbey Gun Oil after use.
Scapa Tape worn with use and a mild wire brushing.
Cyma AK105 Custom - Been shortened by roughly 50mm
All bodywork under paint was scoured to death...I got bored so I camo'd it up - Halfords Camouflage Tan and Brown
Now all wear is through use.
and because it's perty.
