Smokeys M82
19 June, 2011, 20:09
So a friend of mine who shall remain nameless, decided to store his whole collection including this beautiful work of art in one of his barns. Rust had taken hold of nearly all the steal parts. So hopefully I've done it some justice with what little skill I have.

Re: Smokeys M82
Looks good man... Did you take it for you or just repaired it and you're going to return it?
Also very smart on behalf of your friend to store a £1000 or £1500 gun in a barn with the famous UK weather!
At least does it work fine?

Re: Smokeys M82
I've repaired it for him, but I'm might not let him have it back lol.
Yup the action works fine although the seal is a little off, its the 8mm version so not really field usable anyway.
Its such a fine piece of work, if only that attention went in to all airsoft guns.

Re: Smokeys M82
Smokeys gun factory version mate, very tasty and very expensive, Although have you strengthened the front end as they were prone to fireing a round if you put it down too hard.
section 24 of the 1968 Act

1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: Smokeys M82
Thanks for the comment,
Um keys are safe as they arn't regular use ones, ie shed/leccy box etc.
Haven't strengthened the firing mech as it would required some very fancy brass work. Luckly this rifle doesn't discharge unless really smacked, but the fix would be to either lengthen then trigger mech or create extra down force on the whole mech. But then you'd need to beef up the return springs etc.
As said early its really going to be a wall hanger.

I really do want one of these. The only sniper rifle I'd consider getting!

Actually I was looking for VFC Barrett in winter and I managed to find a Smokey V3 at gasguns.info. I think the guy who has it is from Germany.

There's a review from AATV on YouTube comparing it with Asahi M40.
