Well, new lower receiver, some gears and a enhanced recoil spring receiver promptly courtesy of our friend Richardy and his business enterprise, 4 hours cocking around rebuilding everything and then less than a mags worth of testing results in a stripped piston.

I shouted... "Effing C-hunting wayne kerr!"

Hey Guys. I've got 2 recoil AK's - AKS74U and AK74MN.

They're both stock externally and the MN is shooting really well as factory standard. However I had installed an Eagle6 M100 spring in the 74U and the FPS was up at around 355 to begin with. The range increased nicely and the gun was better for it............for a few months at least. Sadly it's now shooting anywhere from 305-330FPS and isn't so hot on semi-auto.

I stripped the gearbox today and noticed that the piston is worn....mostly along one edge of the full row of teeth and the gear that engages the piston has a worn first tooth, where it is now about 50% of the height it should be. Everything else looks fine.

So I've just ordered the Prometheus Double Torque Hard Gear Set and the Prometheus Hard Piston at a cost of around £120, which is a bit ridiculous.

Quick question, do you guys recommend also getting the Prometheus Piston Head to go with the piston, or just use the standard one? If so, why?

Also considering a TBB for it, but they're rare at the moment.

Anybody else upgraded their AK internals?

In short, no... I don't think it'll last longer than 4 stock ones... Make sure the shimming is right when you swap the gears though...

Does anyone know when I can expect the Recoil Scar H in tan to get here? I need to start saving, sigh...airsoft vs. food: winner, airsoft!
