z-tactical comtac 1 headset

as there is quite a few of these on ebay and such other asian sites for a fair price i thought id do a review on them so it may help you with your buying decisions.... anyways im not gonna bore you with details and such but i'll give you the basics and what you probably wanna know

these are a good chinese clone for radio function you can hear as well as any other headset and my friends say i come through loud and clear also the second function of these on the real steel version is noise cancellation.. these are for airsoft so not really a need but they do provide a numbing sound so it dulls down noises however with the real steel you can still hear whats going on around you as im writing this review im wearing them with them switched on listening to music and you can hear it all clearly not like you would if you didnt have em on but clear enough to understand the words so no problem with hearing people next to you one thing i think is rather useful is it somehow amplifies clicking sounds such as typing you can hear all the little details which is a plus any other questions feel free to pm me about em and i'll provide whatever information you need on these

mks 2 are a bit slimmer but they are exactly the same internals

Does anybody know if the comtac 2's come with an ptt or is that built in because im thinking of ordering a set.

ive got some for my motorola with the large ptt button,one thing i noticed is that the "real steel" large ptt that my friend showed me was so much better than the airsoft version, it was a lot easier to push with the heel of the hand...and you knew you had pushed it, unlike the clone,i was left thinking is it engaged properly, and i had to be more consciously aware of pushing it

Hi,

Thanks very much for taking the trouble to write a review. I've also been thinking of these but have been concerned about how much they would stop me from hearing little 'tell tale' signs in a kill house during CQB etc. You mentioned that clicking noises were amplified - are you any less likely to hear someone hiding behind a wall etc?

i have a set and are pretty good. battery cover got shot at and is missing abit... they cut out alot (twice as much as sordins) you get used to it but can be annoying at first.

fit under mich helmets perfectly.

only problem i had is the plug, faulty wiring from pulling it in and out of the ptt after about a years worth of use. only used 2 sets of batterys in that time and still on the 2nd set.
