Fireworks Beta Mosfet
11 February, 2012, 18:59
Have been looking for a good quality Mosfet for a while now, searched the forums and usual places with nothing I felt would be suitable. I was looking at the Raptor series but with the price and the lack of availability put me off somewhat. I came across the Fireworks website offering the Ares and Beta.
The Beta was exactly what I was looking for - after reading the reviews I ordered one and had an e-mail shortly after (less than half an hour) letting me know when it would be posted. Top marks for customer service.
A package arrived promptly containing the mosfet and the instructions. Excuse the pictures. the instructions were crisp and straight but I creased them after they arrived.

As received - the Mosfet with plenty of (high quality) cabling, female spade connectors (for the motor), heat shrink and the instructions.
The instructions are basic but thats all they need to be, if you have any further questions you can e-mail Fireworks and get a very speedy response.
I found fitting the mosfet quite easy. I hadn't done one before and now I am confident I could do another in less than 90 minutes. I put extra connectors in and kept the original wiring from the battery connector so I kept that inline fuse although the Beta has automatically resetting fuses. The Beta itself if very high quality, I really couldn't fault any part of it.
It all fits in the front handle and isn't too much of a squeeze (will put a picture up).
Performance wise it has sharpened my M4 up. The trigger is faster and it cycles faster on full auto.
Overall I am really happy with it, would definitely recommend it and at £25 it is excellent value for money.

Re: Fireworks Beta Mosfet
Perhaps you can list the features so people can see what the differences between the Beta and the Raptor are?
I'm sure you would want to be clear that they are quite different beasts.

Never wave them at police firearms response teams. Those people have (real) guns and no sense of humour.

Re: Fireworks Beta Mosfet
I'm not comparing them in any way. For a list of differences folks can use Google. I did not want/need a Mosfet with most of the features on the Raptor.

Ok.....interesting response.
...I was looking at the Raptor series but with the price and the lack of availability put me off somewhat...
As someone reading your review, which I think is helpful, mentioning the Raptor in this way seems unclear to me. It suggests that you were looking at the Raptor and for the above reasons chose the Beta.
When I said I'm sure you would want to be clear then please understand that I'm saying that, IMO, you are not being clear.
It's just a bit of feedback and you will of course do what you want with it.

Re: Fireworks Beta Mosfet
This has already been answered. Don't take it personally - I'm answering your query.
The raptor seemed to be the only available Mosfet I could find that had good reviews. I did not need the features it offered and I did not want to spend £70+ on it.

As I said it was some feedback and you will do what you want with it. No personal offence taken.
