LOL, I appreciate the humerous side of that
But I meant have any forum members personally reviewed the star l85, or have it and would like to review it for me?

Hmm. Not really typical of this particular AEG though.

If you are paying big bucks then get the G&G. Cheaper? go with the Army if you can actually get your mitts on one. All that one is, is a clone of the G&G.

The manufacturer formerly known as Star
...well I have a Star/Ares SA80/L85A2...whatever/however you wanted to designate it. And I have one of the earlier A2's from before they had plasticky bits put in them, and weaker gearboxes and before they became Ares..
Its a very good gun, reliable, balanced and once you get a decent sized 9.6v and a tightbore, accurate and with a great rate of fire. I got hold of one of the custom batteries which is split to fit in the foregrip with two of the cells forward to the sling point...
I have owned mine for two years now, and its excellent, a couple of minor wear and tear issues but then you get that with any gun. Weighs about the same as the real thing, sling attachment is a bitch, but once on the arrangement is great. Not too many accessories available, but I've got a barrell mounted laser, and attached a small ris rail to the foregrip for a torch.

Re: WANTED: Star L85A2 Review!
I have the Star/Ares L85a2 carbine, and in looks and weight, it is vey nice, its feels very balanced, there is a bit of a problem with the battery compartment, in that it will only take a mini battery, unlike the full length version, which will house a custom battery. The range is very good, and its very easy to change the spring to alter the FPS, it literally takes about 5 mins, my gun is approx 6 months old, and has been returned to the shop twice, the first time, it wouldnt shoot at all, and that was straight from the box!!, and the second time, i believe, something in the piston went pear shaped, at the present time, it is firing very well, although it is prone to misfires when on fully auto. If im honest, if i knew what problems i was going to have, i probably wouldnt have bought one, but i guess its down to luck, some people will buy this gun and have no problems, and others will have no issues at all, in short, if you really like this type of gun, then buy it, as it may well be the best gun you own, or not!!
