Re: ics mp5 a5sd review wanted

    Hi mate

I have the MP5A5 full metal (not the SD but obviously same internals) with the M100 spring and it is great! fires great, played at SWAT urban chester with it on sunday for the 1st time and went through a few thousand rounds and it never missed a beat! but i would recommend having a spare battery (or maybe i should be a little less trigger happy!!)
But other than that £180 well spent! and i plan on buying another ics very soon.

I've got the SD2 mate. Haven't been able to skirmish it yet, but when plinking in the garden it gets a good grouping at 30m for such a small weapon and a nice ROF on a 8.4v. Externally it is one of the nicest AEGs I've held - good weight & finish. I'm skirmishing it on Saturday so I'll get back to you on how it performs in woodland

I've got the SD2 as well.

Very nice size for both woods and CQB. Easy to adjust hop, which seems to stay set. Nice rate of fire from an 8.4 and I've just converted to deans and lipo and there's LOADS of spare room in the stock.

Mag well is pretty tight, but I've used Mag, CA and ICS mags and all work well.

Only concerns are that the rear sling mount feels weak (so I've wrapped the sling around the stock, just behind the receiver and duct taped it for extra security), the hand grip pins work loose too easily (duct tape solved that) and the selector and lower receiver are plastic, making the selector feel flimsy. Basically, there's nothing that a little duct tape won't solve (just like in the real world).

A nice gun, that I can't recommend enough.

            I've had a go of the ICS MP5 A5.

Very Solid and robust feel. Stock has a bit of wobble but unnoticable in a skirmish. Hop up doesnt seem to stay in place terribly well and feels a bit loose. 900RPM with an 8.4v 1500 MaH. I would say the only way you could go wrong with it is if your site is a massive open woodland area. If its a medium sized woodland or CQB/Urban site the gun will dominate any silly bulpup
