Re: Review Wanted : WE 416 AEG

I've had 2 WE M4 AEGs and they've both been great, still got one of them.

      Pros:

Externals: Great Plastics, Alloy quality is great, accepts any AEG extras, PTW/GBBR style sling mount fitting.

Internals: Build quality is very good, new one piece cylinder head rubber makes for a great seal, teardrop piston head ports are very good aswell, hop unit is solid, barrel is ali but so far I've not seen any degradation, all Marui comparable, gear set has lasted 6000 rds or so with signs of failure, the forward spring release function works really well, Gearbox shell is very well made (non-reinforcend version 2)

      Cons:

Externals: No trade marks, small degree of wobble between receiver halves.

Internals: Forward spring release means some extra parts on gearbox (but it can run without them), definitely worth a motor/mosfet upgrade out of the box, makes quite a loud 'snappy' because of the cylinder head (I eventually changed mind out for a double o-ring type and fitted a sorbo pad).

      Overall:

Very well recommended by me, takedown is a bit easier than a G&P given the buffer tube attachment is slightly different, gear box is solid and well put together.

I was very impressed with mine, IMHO best M4 for the price bracket.

So far I've been running Beta Project P-mags with no issues.

(p.s. I know you were asking for the 416 but I figured they are fairly similar).
