Re: Lsw star a2
they are like an l85, but longer
the star comes with a polycarb gearbox, mixed reviews, I replaced it with metal.
they are better in gearbox style than the G&G l85 series
they are heavier than the ICS
they have a 19mm instead of 20mm rail (so you need a convertor or Star SUSAT)
they usually come in v. hot
they dont like pmags, the magwell is too long for the ridge, also count out the ICS Canadian style mags.

Re: Lsw star a2
From my research, polycarb is a no no, however you could get the ARES which is same make is STAR, but they do a metal gearbox. but if you want a gear that is prone to break and need replacing, then polycarb will do that for you (but im sure you don't)

Re: Lsw star a2
not great, but you can stick metal gears in it and it should be fine
much cheaper than going ares and forking out more. the shell is polycarb too, but thats fine ...

Re: Lsw star a2
I've got a STAR L85 with a polycarb gearbox and it's not as bad as it sounds.
I took it out for inspection and it's seems pretty strong. There's no reason that it should break or crack from what I've seen.
