              Re: Aa l85a2

ive got one and theres a few things to consider

              cons
              1. Spare parts are killer to find ( from what ive experianced)
              2. rate of fire
              3. accessories can be waaaaay expensive
              4. i hear bad reports about the piston

              pros
              1. SA80'S look AWSOME!
              2. M16 length barrel in an m4 sized gun
              3. Cheapest sa80 to buy

only problems ive had with mine is that im still trying to find a replacement cocking handle and the pin that holds the mag catch in place fell out.

other than that im happy with mine

                      Re: Aa l85a2

Know this has been on for a while now, but will copy as a private message - these guns are mince as stock - I bought one as a project, when I had finished it was pretty awesome, but the list of things I had to do were numerous as listed below:

                      Disabled the Blowback
Fitted a 9.6v 2200mah battery which improved ROF a bit
                      Fitted a Madbull Tightbore Barrel
Fitted a 45deg Element Hop Bucking
Fitted a Custom made Aluminium Piston Head Spacer to allow a normal Piston to be fitted
Fitted an Element Re-enforced Piston & Piston Head
Fitted a fully Shimmed XYT Gearset to accomodate Standard Piston
Fitted an Element M105 Spring to improve FPS

So basically as you can see, pretty much replaced all the internals, but after these mods were complete, the gun had a great rate of fire, an awesome range and accuracy grouping and never locked up or failed me once - if you want a project then this is a great gun to work on, but if you want something reliable as stock, I would seriously advise you to get rid of it.
