Right not great at this sort of thing but here goes.

The gun comes standard out of the box roughly 280FPS if not a little bit more. (mine was 285FPS) I didnt have a chance to try at at this FPS tho as i paid for a 1 JOULE upgrade 330FPS ish. But from talking to the enginer at zeroone that upgraded mine the rate of fire is not as fast as a normal TM or G&P (for the sake of example). When upgraded with a 1 JOULE spring the rate of fire is very slow as the motor sounds as if its strugling, the motor used is stated on the plate on the under side of the grip (stanard place and standard size, which is long type) and is either an EG700 OR EG1000 i cant tell as there is no lable on the motor. Once id used it out on the field with the original motor dispite the slow cycling the accuracy and hop are astonishing, in my opinion unrivaled all bar the TM M14. The hop its self has been changed and TM seem to have adopted the CA or ICS hop systerm which is a up or down barrel systerm in the same usall location, which makes addjusting just that bit easier and procise. The Blow back which to be honest was one of the main attractions doesn't dissapoint, and is quite noticable and feels very solid within the gun. The mags and 30 ROUND shut off mode work very well. but note rounds are still wasted if the mag is taken out before completely emptied and the stoppage is a lovely touch which has to be said does take some time to get used to but works and feels great. last thing before this goes on any longer lol is the battery as with every new battery. it should be left on a trickle charge for the first time to make sure the optimum capasity is held charging is as easy as its always been the adaptor is provided, it has a small standard connector. 1300mah is plenty to last a game as long as you use it wisely, (hicaps may struggle if you have a heavy trigger finger)

Just one thing i dont belive these will be able upgrade to 350FPS as of yet(but hopfully somewhere down in the near future) as the M100 spring is to long and the coils may lock up before the piston is fully compressed and the standard motor wouldn't be able to cope. so this i would recomend a systema Magnum long type to be used with a 1joule spring.

Thats it done hope that helps you guys in some way or form

    all the best Ryan

Hi Tg, I heard rumors of the TM SOPMOD cannot take regular m4 low and high caps, (such as classic army, jg, just to name a few) I am wondering, is this true? (I'm fully aware that this thread was made almost a year ago)

        Re: Tokyo Marui SOPMOD M4

The mags HAVE to be the TM Sopmod made mags. You can get the Low/mid cap mag (which is 30/82 rnd by flipping the base) or the 450 rnd high caps.

Thanks guys, very useful info. Saved me from buying extra lowcaps for other m4s.

You can by an adaptor for them now so they can use the ordinary mags, it cant use the bolt stop feature when using other mags through the adaptor though, think theyre about £15 so guess would be alright to use as you collect some actual lo's for it :-).

                  Re: Tokyo Marui SOPMOD M4

LOL, i bought mine from z1, paid for it on weds, recieved on friday, skirmished it on sunday,
Best gun i have used in years, each shot produced a grin a mile wide , the recoil whilst not as thump as a gas m4 is still a nice touch. Using the mid caps all day made me a bit more picky on my shots rather than lobbing a few shots from the highcap trick,
The range and accuracy using.2's is amazing, in the afternoon i switched over to .25's and it was even better. The new style hop is so so good, im popping a v hop and tightbore barrel in and that will be that.
the mags/bolt release is a nice touch, run out of ammo in the mag the gun wont fire until its reloaded with a fresh mag and the bolt release is "slapped" all my mags fit in my existing mag pouches nicely

My only woe was the pitifully small battery, 1300mah it lasted me a rather conservative morning, and only just. when the batt was getting flat the recoil didnt fully work so became slightly troublesome in mid firefight. In the afternoon i switched the batt out to replace it with a friends 7.2 3000mah lipo, it was amazing, ROF was intense, trigger response crisp and knew i had enough juice to blat away happily. have since ordered a similar battery and will pop the connector onto once its here.
cant recomend this gun enough, its totally more than i had hoped for. Z1 should expect more orders of them iminently, our team have all been saving for them and are now placed to order in next few weeks

                  buy one!
time for a break, all my gear is going !

                      Re: Tokyo Marui SOPMOD M4

And it was definetly worth the cash i paid. This gun is undescribable. I got it chroned, and it was firing at 262 FPS. My initial thought was 'Oh dear, this is going to be emotional for me.'
And it was, but not in a bad way that i originally thought it would be. The range is absoltuly phenominal! Its easily on par with my old CA M15, which was firing 340, had had loads of upgrades etc. The SOPMOD was totally stock, and could easily keep up with anything else. Creeping through woods with my Sopmod, teammate with a blowback AK, we bumped a patrol. Hearing his and my blowback guns fire in unison just sounded incredible. We scared three guys away, and slotted 5 between us! Outstanding...

The gun is sturdy as hell, but does have a couple of small problems.
The first is the fact there is no sling loop. Using a single point sling, i managed to get it through part of the stock, but unless you have a strap to go through the stock, its very difficult to attach any sling. This can be sorted though by adding one, or using a strap through the stock.
Next is the batterys. While so so easy to change, a monkey could do it, they are small. During cold weather, a full charged battery lasted about 6 mags. It may be the fact i used a speed charger on them, or the fact is was about 1 or 2 degrees C, but still i normally get a lot more out of batterys than 6 mags.
One other problm i had was the bolt release catch locking mechanism. It didnt always engage when i ran out of rounds. I found that if i tilted the gun slightly to the left it locked, but if the gun wasnt slightly tilted, it sometimes struggled. Not a massive issue though.

Mags and batterys are expensive. You can buy the adaptor to use conventional magazines, such as normal TM mags, CA etc, but if you want to keep the bolt lock function you need to use the Sopmod mags.

                      Good points though:

Just amazing to use. Sounds great, has beautiful range. Theres no doubting the performance of this gun. It goes until the last round EVERY time. No BB's left in magazines.
Full metal, and weighty. This gun aint going to break if you drop it.
Quick battery changes. And i do mean seconds.
Great design on the mags. A switch in the bottom to swap between 30rnd and 82rnd? Milsimmers, yes please!
Again, just an amazing gun, such fun to use!
Being full RIS on the front, and with a RIS top rail, makes it easy to customise the gun with accessories. Ive fitted an Eotech 552 to mine, and a front grip. And its all i really need! Also, a bit of a bonus/problem depending how you look at it, is the bottom RIS hand guard is very easy to take off to put in a UGL, but can be knocked if holding the magwell, meaning you lose the bottom of your handguard.

To summarise, everybody that saw, heard or fired this gun said 'Wow, i want one!' That is the impact this gun has on people. There are a few drawbacks with it, such as the small battery size, and the fact you can only use other mags with the adaptor, but if your willing to pay for this gun, you wont be disappointed! At the end of the day, the FPS can be increased, the batterys can have cells added to them, and the gun is always going to be one of those things that holds a special place in peoples hearts.

                      Buy one, buy one NOW!!

when removing the mag do bb's fall from the sopmod like in a normal aeg or do they stay in the hop?
