Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
Hey mate,
I have a friend who recently got one of these. Hes brought it over for testing before however we wont be able to guage proper perfomance until this Saturday.
Can potentially knock up a review if this post doesnt answer it? let me know?
FPS: 265-270
ROF: 15rps (7.4v), 21rps (8.4v) the 8.4 hasnt been charged since last weekend... so I reckon it can hit the 25rps mark they advertise!
Mag cap: 330 highcap mag.
Range: not sure on the full range... but it can shoot dead straight down the length of my garden (30-40m)
Accuracy: No solid values... can hit my garden knome at 30m 80% of the time on semi auto... on full auto at 21rps... good luck...
Good: Very well finished, hop under bolt cover, bolt cover can be locked back to adjust hop, good weight. secure battery storage. Insane ROF. respectable FPS.
Bad: very sensitive gear box. Cant use anything higher than a 8.4v niMH (according to the manual), we reckon if you run anything higher you risk pre-engagement and screwing up a very specialist gearbox... There seems to also be a lot of reverberance in the gun... when you fire or press the fire selector there is this unsual *twang* from a spring of some sort.
as said previously, if you want a full review, let me know and give me about a week to write it up. Im over due on a WE SCAR-L and WE G39 review sadly as well... so I will need to write those before I can do the AUG review

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
i would be very interested in a proper review of this.... there is a few short vids on the tube but not alot of info. i wonder how well these gearboxs are built 25rps on a 8.4 is nice but could it handle anything larger despite what the manual says.

mines back at zero one
semi auto didn't work when it showed up. rof on it is pretty impressive.
not sure if it was just mine but the top rail was a bit wobbly as was the front underneath rail...

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
I got one of these and used it for the first time at Anzio. It feels very solid to hold, no creaking or anything. FPS is around 280ish and rate of fire is 25 rounds per seconds. The noise whilst firing on full auto is epic. However this gun is excellent of semi auto also. Its pretty accurate with very little spread. The hop up is excellent. At Anzio I was out ranging many guns with a larger barrel length as well as my FAMAS. The semi-opaque high cap you get with it is very usefull as you can see how many rounds are in it but seems a bit clunky and I had problems getting it out of my mag pouch quickly. Due to the rate of fire, as with the TM FAMAS, I would not use a battery over 8.4 as it is likely to burn the gearbox out. Another downer is the weight is VERY unbalanced with much of the weight in the rear. Its not so bad when you shoulder it though and its better the weight concentrated in the rear than the front. Overall I would say this is a fantastic AEG. Brilliant for CQB but can more than hold its own in woodland too.

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
Has anyone bothered trying to upgrade the fps for this yet? Would a simple m100 spring raise it to the 340ish mark or would this put too much strain on the motor or something

what's the point a power increase isn't going to give you any noticeable difference in range so why bother?

It would be totally pointless. The range is pretty good considering the barrel length.

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
i would imagine a spring upgrade would be a good idea as in theory in would decrease the chance of pre engagement if you wanted to use a bigger battery such as a 9.6v or a lipo.

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
a decent tightbore barrel will probably increase the fps without having to change the spring ......

Re: reveiw required tm high cycle aug
Without starting a flame war here, why not upgrade this?
Fix the AoE, add an M100 spring, metal bushings and a tightbore and this thing should be a monster on the field.. Heck, a small 9.6v/7.4v would probably fit right in after that and not be too silly! Even got me tempted now and I LOVE my MP5k..
I believe that inside this is just a TM EG-30000 motor and some high speed gears, nothing specialthere! -Just a high speed setup. I have never had one open myself, but a bit of google-fu gave me that much info.

So why do people bother upgrading their snipers from 280 fps then? Id want a power upgrade so my bb's reach the target quicker its as simple as that
