I think they are readily available but, as with all gas sniper rifle mags, they'll be the wrong side of £50 odd quid a shot. I was very pleased this came with two.
£100 per mag. Although you don't really need more than 2 mags anyway as you can buy the 25 rd slipper mags at about £25 each. So 4 of those with 2 gassed mags is really all you would need per skirmish mission. How many snipers loose off 100rds in 45 minutes?
One thing to watch out on either gen 1 or Gen 2 is that the threaded bolt on the top of the bipod mount is prone to shearing. Semperfi borrowed mine at the weekender last year and when placing it on the ground to take up position the bolt snapped. Luckily the wifes brother is an engineer, and he sorted it with a titanium bolt, so now it is as strong as a bull.
I found that the DSR need minimal maintenance and is very user friendly.

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Hi Guys, I'm from the US.
I've owned this gun since June of last year.
I'm VERY satisfied with the gun.
The only thing that I've done so far are cleaning the barrel and relubing the bolt.
The DSR actually has lots of upgrade parts for accuracy.
It uses standard AEG barrel, hop-up bucking, and hop-up spacer.
I'm planning to buy and install the following parts hopefully before June/July.
Prometheus 6.03 TBB
Prometheus Soft/Purple Hop-up Bucking
Mad Bull Fishbone Hop-up Spacer
And about the Socom Gear M200....
It's not built for performance from the beginning.
The gun is built more for realistic operations.
The idea of shell ejecting is the biggest problem.
Having a shell will drastically reduce the air seal.
Along with using 8mm BBs, accuracy is out of the equation.
However, the gun does deliver about 3.0 joule of shear power.....

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Just thought I'd rekick this one, i've just purchased one of these DSR-1's on here, it's the version 2 and i'd like to know if any of you have an idea what the range is suppost to be like and whether you have experienced the hop-up to be extremely sensitive?

The hop was really sensitive on my old one too, range was pretty decent, but I was using 0.4g bbs

Learn how to shoot right handed.
You have to cut out the left side of the chamber/bolt area and that'll screw up the structure integrity.
After that's done, you have to make a whole new bolt.
Guess what? There's more! The grip is shaped for right hands.
So.....new grips too.

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
The original barrel is a 6.06 ID... So a 6.03 is a lot better!

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Uh, first thing first.
Check the temperature and humidity lol
Next, check for all of the O-rings, make sure there no leak between anything anywhere.
Check barrel/hop

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
A leak between mag - bolt is fairly common, check the o-ring at the bottom of the bolt.

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Strongly considering getting hold of one of these. Anyone still using one that can vouch for its range/accuracy? frequently have to do 70-80m shots ( longest kill shot so far with my mauser l96 is near 100)
