Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
I have the shooter o-rings but I've bought one o ring from the local hardware store to replace the broken o ring in the mag.
Note that this is very common to happen!
I went to test the gun today and it looses gas!! I haven't used in about 2 months and it leaks gas!!
I always leave a bit of gas in the mags.
I can't wait to built the Barrett!!
This Ares is very dissapointing!!

Hmm ... Seems to be both good and bad points in this.

thats because the socom gear M82 is utter crap, and the M200 is hardly amazing for the price

To be honest I don't like the Ares gas system! It's the same with the M200 and it's pretty inconsistent.
The SG Barrett is very weak for the size that's why I'm waiting for the PolarStar Fusion gearbox! I think that then it will be the winner!
The WA2000 and the Barrett is the only guns I'll never sell!

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Hi guys I'm new here and I want to ask you (especially to "The Keeper of Secrets") something:Are the spare parts for the DSR easy to find or not?Are the DSR's parts compatibles with other ASGs?
Because I have it since one year ago and I've never used it in a game, for the fear of breaking it and then throw it away.
Thanks.
PS:Sorry for my English,I'm Italian.

Re: ARES DSR-1 (Version 2) Review.
Hi there,
Since ARES are the only ones currently producing the DSR, I would say that the only parts you're going to get for it are from ARES themselves, which would take phoning up a retailer and getting whatever you needed specifically shipped in. Needless to say this would cost a lot.
To be fair though, It's a very simple mechanism with strong parts. There's not a lot to potentially break and what is there seems strong enough not to do so. You should be OK.

To clear up so things as I now have a DSR
Very useable
Solid as anything
And there are not many parts in there.
Yes you can use a different hop
Yes you can use a different barrel - mine 6.01mm
Bolt ... Not sure why you'd want too .
Mags - extra available and it's shipped with 2.
What parts are you thinking of?

O rings are still available from HK.
An assorted o ring pack from halfords usually has some that fit
